The Rhetoric Society of America (RSA) is an organization of scholars dedicated to studying, teaching, and practicing rhetoric. Founded in 1968, RSA is an interdisciplinary society whose members come from composition studies, English, communication, philosophy, linguistics, history, political science, sociology, visual arts, and other fields.In 2008, the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) accepted the Rhetoric Society of America as its 70th member learned society. Rhetoric Society of America was initiated and first organized and directed by Charles Kneupper (Associate Professor) at UTA. It provides a platform to gather from all relevant fields of study, and to distribute among its members, current knowledge of rhetoric which is broadly construed.
